As usual, Electra Mining 2018 provided visitors with plenty of opportunity to interact with exhibitors showcasing their new products, technologies and innovations. Mining Mirror caught up with a few suppliers during five days of non-stop action. Electra Mining was held at the Nasrec expo centre, in the South of Johannesburg from the 10th to 14th of September 2018.
AR Controls was established in South Africa in 1995 with the aim of becoming a premier valve company in the African Market. In 1998 AR Controls was approached by DeZURIK Apco Hilton to represent and distribute their products on an exclusive basis in Africa. AR Controls is today the parent company of IncoValve and Controls™ and Arvalv™, as well as the exclusive distributor and stockist for DeZURIK and YDF products throughout Africa.
To date AR Controls is the largest stockists of stainless-steel knife gate and high-performance butterfly valve products on the African continent. As a company, AR Controls continues to grow, and is constantly investing in research and revelopment, skills and technological advancement. The company competes strongly where performance is prioritised. The product range that AR Controls offers is solution-based rather than commodity-based.
The company has compensated for more expensive products by providing clients with products that offer cheaper total cost over the long term. As a solution-based company, time is spent on pre-engineering design to fit custom designed products which suite specific requirements and produce desired results. The company serves the minerals, petro‑chem, iron and steel, power generation, water and waste water, pulp and paper, food and beverage, chemical as well as oil and gas industries.
Another Electra Mining has come to an end, and this year Advanced Fire Suppression Technologies didn’t hold back. With a massive double storey inside hall 5 and a 250 square meter stand outside, they were impossible to miss. The stand inside hall 5 showcased all the Tyco, Red G and Williams Fire products used by Advanced. It was stunning.
The outside stand showcased a slew of new products now offered by Advanced FST. Their brand-new products on display were the RAASM Automatic Centralized Lubrication Systems, the Eagle Pride Hussar Mapping Drone, PAFSS® Fire Suppression Systems, Ingström Emergency Escape Chute, Advanced Fleet Management Solutions and lastly, Rural Metro which is a company that supplies private fire brigades as well as risk assessments, training and a lot more.
